What are Music Medals?

Music Medals are accredited assessments and teaching resources from the ABRSM.

They provide motivational goals and tangible rewards for progress supported by a unique range of affordable and award-winning music.

There are five progressive levels – Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

The initial assessment is made by the teacher in their role as Teacher-Assessor and this is moderated by ABRSM.

The Assessment

There are three components in a Music Medal assessment. Each component focuses on different aspects of the candidates developing skills.

The candidate plays one Ensemble piece, one Solo piece and selects one Option test from a choice of four, covering a range of musicianship skills. These are Call & Response, Make a tune, Question & Answer and Sight-Reading.
